Our History

Capital Hospitality was established in 1978 in Athens, Georgia by hotel entrepreneur Jay Patel. The company's first hotel was an independent 25 unit motel that founder and CEO Jay Patel moved his entire family into. After two years of working maintenance, front desk, and management, Jay Patel moved to Florida were he began to unravel his vision for the past 30 years. Capital Hospitality and its valued associates have since established a reputation built on trust, reliability and long-term, partnerships-based approach to all facets of hotel business ownership, development and operations management.

Today, Capital Hospitality has grown from a company started on a 25 unit motel in Athens, Georgia, to a Hospitality company that boast over 25 hotels within its ownership, construction, and management portfolio.
